Citizen: Safety & Live Video

Citizen is a real-time safety and local awareness app that helps you stay informed about incidents and emergencies happening around you. Follow breaking events through live alerts, an interactive crime map, local updates, and video from active incidents, all from your phone.

Stay Informed About Nearby Incidents

Citizen provides timely information about events happening in your area, including reported crimes, vehicle pursuits, protests, robberies, wildfires, severe weather, natural disasters, and other emergencies. Notifications can help you learn about developing situations before they receive wider news coverage.

Live Crime and Incident Map

Use the interactive map to see reported incidents around your location. Events are displayed on the map and updated as information becomes available, helping you understand what is happening nearby and whether an incident is still active or has been resolved.

Real-Time Safety Alerts

Receive notifications about crimes and emergencies in areas that matter to you. Citizen can also be configured to monitor specific locations beyond where you currently are, such as your workplace, school, or a family member's home.

Follow Incident Resolution

The Incident Resolution feature lets you follow an event from its initial report through subsequent updates. When an incident is closed, you can see its resolution status instead of being left wondering how the situation ended.

Live Incident Video

Watch available live video from developing incidents and see events as they unfold. Citizen also allows users to go live and share information about an incident with people in their community.

Custom Alert Zones

Create alert zones for places you want to monitor even when you are somewhere else. Set up notifications for locations such as your home, office, school, or another place that is important to you.

Registered Offender Map

Citizen provides a nationwide map showing registered sex offenders, allowing users to view available information around areas such as their home, workplace, or school.

Missing People and Pets

The app also gives communities tools for sharing information about missing people and pets. Users can stay aware of local searches and potentially help others locate a missing family member or animal.

Police Radio and Scanner Audio

Listen to available police radio scanner audio and related clips connected to incidents. This provides additional context for selected events and can help users follow developing situations.

Citizen Premium

Citizen Premium provides additional safety and information features for users who want more detailed access. Premium features include police and fire scanner audio clips, incident archives, multiple alert zones, and customizable notification radius settings.
