When several women named Sarah Connor are suddenly murdered, she realizes that she may be the real target.

The danger becomes clear when the mysterious T-800 finds her. Although the machine looks completely human, it is actually an advanced killing machine with a metal endoskeleton hidden beneath living tissue. Its strength and determination make it almost impossible to stop.

Kyle Reese Arrives From the Future

Sarah's only chance of survival is Kyle Reese, a soldier from the future who has been sent back in time to protect her. Reese knows exactly what the Terminator is capable of and tries to convince Sarah that the machine will continue hunting her until its mission is complete.

At first, Sarah struggles to believe his story. The police and others around her see Reese as a confused and dangerous man rather than a soldier from the future. But after witnessing the Terminator survive injuries that should have killed an ordinary person, Sarah realizes that Reese has been telling the truth.

As the two escape across Los Angeles, Reese explains the future that awaits humanity. A Fight Against an Almost Unstoppable Machine

The Terminator continues tracking Sarah and Reese through the city. Conventional weapons are barely enough to slow it down, and every encounter reveals more of the machine's frightening capabilities. Sarah gradually changes from an ordinary woman trying to survive into someone beginning to understand the enormous responsibility that has been placed on her.

During their time together, Sarah and Reese also develop a deep emotional connection. Reese reveals that he has carried a photograph of Sarah from the future and has admired the woman she is destined to become. Their relationship becomes an important part of the story and ultimately connects the past, present and future in an unexpected way.

The Final Battle

Sarah and Reese eventually confront the Terminator in a desperate attempt to destroy it. Even after its human appearance is burned away, the machine continues its pursuit as a metal endoskeleton. Reese uses homemade explosives to damage the machine, but he is fatally injured during the confrontation.

Sarah is left to finish the fight alone. Despite her injuries, she manages to lure the damaged Terminator beneath a massive hydraulic press. At the last moment, she activates the machine and finally destroys the cyborg.

The Beginning of a New Future

After the battle, Sarah discovers that she is pregnant with Reese's child. The revelation creates one of the film's most important time-travel paradoxes: the soldier sent back to protect Sarah becomes the father of the future leader he was trying to save.

Sarah leaves Los Angeles and begins preparing herself for the future. She understands that her unborn son, John, will one day play a crucial role in humanity's struggle against Skynet. The film ends with Sarah driving toward an uncertain future as dark clouds gather in the distance.
