Burning Bridges (1996) is a dramatic short film about Jeremy, a troubled young man facing an uncertain future after being expelled from boarding school. While wandering through Newark, he becomes connected to Kara, a woman trapped in an unhappy relationship and struggling with her own difficult circumstances. Their unexpected meeting develops into a deeply personal connection as both characters search for understanding and a possible way forward. Pedro Pascal appears as Alex in this early screen project from the beginning of his acting career.

The film places its characters in a grounded setting where personal circumstances matter as much as the events around them. Jeremy's difficult home life and Kara's troubled relationship create a story built around two people who unexpectedly recognize something familiar in each other. Their meeting becomes an opportunity to consider trust, loneliness, responsibility, and the possibility of making a different choice. As an early independent project, Burning Bridges is also notable as part of Pedro Pascal's formative screen work, with his appearance as Alex adding an early credit to his career.
