Sweet Little Lies (2011) follows Bess, a young woman who leaves Kansas and travels toward Las Vegas in search of the father she has never known. Along the way, she encounters a collection of unusual people whose own problems and experiences become part of her journey. What begins as a desperate search gradually becomes a personal exploration of family, independence, and unexpected human connections. Combining adventure, drama, and comedy, the film follows Bess as she discovers that a new direction in life can come from the most unlikely places. Pedro Pascal appears as Paulino.

Bess's journey is shaped by the desire to understand where she came from and to find the father who has been absent from her life. Traveling from Kansas toward Las Vegas exposes her to people living on the margins and gives her a broader view of family and belonging. The road setting allows the story to move between humorous, dramatic, and unexpected situations while Bess gradually becomes more independent. Pedro Pascal appears as Paulino in this independent adventure drama, adding another supporting performance to his early film work.
